Welcome

Though most of this blog contains pictures, it's also a detailed account of my life living with three boys. And yes, they are all boys. Hope you enjoy... they're pretty cute (but often smell).

Cutest Nursery Ever

I have to share some pictures of our friend's daughter's (aka - Baby Bro-Go's future girlfriend) nursery. Seriously, the cute factor is so over the top and I would like to live in there!!

Painting "Baby Brothers" room

Finally starting to work on the nursery. Since I'm not supposed to paint (though it won't totally stop me), Cole stepped in to help.

Time for a Big Boy Bed

It’s official. Cole knows how to get out of his crib. The gig is up!

Last night, after putting Cole to bed (and after J reading him 2+ stories), he decided he still wanted to hang-out with mom and dad. So he took a silent journey:

Yes, our little ninja came strolling into the living room after climbing out of bed, over the gate and down the stairs…. With a look on his face that said “hey – no worries ma – just thought I’d come see what you’re doing. Aren't I cute?”

Needless to say, tonight will include a family trip to Becker Furniture to buy a twin bed and maybe some shackles.

Nursery

I got a call this past week about our nursery - what it looks like and where we got our stuff?

The paint and the idea is based off a Winnie the Pooh theme that J found at Home Depot. I absolutely LOVE the paint in Cole's room - I think it will transition really well as he gets older (I'm thinking a camping theme with a tent over his bed... and lightening bug lanterns... not that I've thought about it).

All of the furniture came from Babies R' Us - and the bedding now that I think about it. The curtains are my FAVORITE and really tie it all together.

So here it is:

We took the doors off the closet and put curtains - quieter and opens up the space more

My lil' man as I write this. That glazed look is due to the vibrating chair he's in!

Last piece for the day - a lesson really - Ants LOVE formula. We've learned this the hard way already... all those lovely burp rags have brought tons of little, gross ants. Yuck! Lesson: Stock up on any killer (baby safe stuff of course) and don't leave burp rags on the ground!

DIY Weekend

We've been working on the nursery on-and-off for the past few weekends and I'm happy to report we are almost done... Just need a few more items (nightstand, mattress, Los) and it will complete. Here are some pictures - my favorites are the curtains with the leaves on them!

Crib corner

Changing Table (complete with lots of stuffy friends)

Glider (which I assembled all on my own)

Also this weekend: I reupholstered our kitchen chairs! It was SUPER easy and had instant results (which I love).

Checking Things Off the To-Do List

A couple of weeks ago I started freaking out that we had nothing done. I hadn't registered yet, we hadn't decided what to do for a nursery, and I wasn't even close to finishing any of those damn baby books I bought at the beginning!

So, over Labor Day weekend, I got online and started registering for stuff at Target and we started on the nursery. The nursery is almost done so I thought I'd share some before and after pictures with you. Enjoy!

Me... freestyle painting some clouds!

Just a few more touches and then we'll start getting some furniture in there! As for finishing those baby books... not even close!
