Welcome

Though most of this blog contains pictures, it's also a detailed account of my life living with three boys. And yes, they are all boys. Hope you enjoy... they're pretty cute (but often smell).

Hudson Update: 16 Months

Yikes! Sorry Huddy Buddy, it’s been so long since I’ve written at length about you.

·         Age: 16 Months Old
·         Weight: 33 lbs. (but you’ve been trimming down since you started RUNNING)
·         Height: Ummm, good question. You’re tall
·         Teeth Count: 8th one just poked through
·         Diaper Size: 5
·         Clothes Size: 24 month/2T (or Cole’s clothes if dad is dressing you in the morning)
·         Nap: Just one a day; typically around 11:30/12:00 and for an hour + 30 minutes
·         Bedtime: 7:30pm and you sleep until around 7:00am (THANK YOU!)
·         Food: You eat EVERYTHING and ALL THE TIME! Your favorites are raspberries, but any fruit will do. You love pasta and pancakes (not together). You slam milk like no other and you get VERY angry if we don’t feed you quick enough.
·         Talking: We’ve figured out a few words (tractor, dad, mom, dog, car) but it’s still a little tricky to understand. But you do talk all the time… full sentences. Non-stop!
·         Walking: This should more say “running” as you are always sprinting around the house. You never stop moving when you’re awake.
·         Other things:
o   You love your brother and want to play with what he has. If he’s on timeout you will go sit with him. He’s pretty awesome with you too… gives you snacks and shares his cookies on “cookie Friday” with you.
o   You are obsessed with your Monkey stuffed animal. Won’t sleep without it and carry it around with you. You also eat his nose.
o   You bite! I’m not sure if you do at school, but you love to take chomps out of mom and dad! And then you giggle your head off after…
o   Mosquitos and you do NOT get along. You’ve had some appendage swell-up every week (currently it’s your foot) due to mosquito bites.
o   You laugh in the face of authority. No, you really do. Any time I tell you “no” you laugh in my face and do it anyways.
o   You’re love to wrestle with your dad… actually anyone who’s on the ground is fair game to you.
o   You are stinking cute and SO happy! You’re always smiling and have the ladies at daycare wrapped around your finger.
o   You’re silly and love making faces… you growl and roar all the time, blow raspberries and just cause havoc around the house.

Dad and I love you tons, even though you get into everything and eat us out of house & home! Can’t wait to watch you get older and see what a little bruiser you turn into!

Hudson: 2 months Old

My lil' guy isn't so little anymore! Well, I guess he never really was...

Hudson had his two month check-up on Tuesday and is currently 25" tall and weighs 15 lbs and 9 ounces!

Other stats:

  • Wearing size 2 diapers
  • Mostly wearing 9 months clothes (yes, 9 month)
  • Eating about 30-35 ounces of formula a day (7 bottles a day)
  • Has been averaging 5 hour sleep shifts at night (putting him down between 10-11pm, and then waking up for a bottle around 3-4am)
  • Is smiling like crazy and has even produced a few giggles
  • Can pretty much hold his head up
  • Loves to move and would be crawling if he had any idea how to control his arms and legs
  • Still loves to cuddle but has been pretty content snoozing in his swing (I need to get him napping in the crib)
  • Still rocks the swaddle/sleep sack at night but has been breaking his arms out
  • Has a very sweet disposition - he rarely cries, only has one major fuss period (for Jason around 9:30pm)
  • Jason and I both think he'll be the laid-back one, but will also be our bruiser (Cole will be the mouth and Huddy will have to back it up)

If you're interested in comparing my boys, Cole has the same height at 2 months but only 13 lbs 10 ounces. More here.

Hope you all are enjoying your Summer. Mine is coming to an end in a few short weeks... or at least that's what it feels like since I'll be going back to work after the 4th of July weekend... This time will be much harder in some ways and easier in others...

Time for a Big Boy Bed

It’s official. Cole knows how to get out of his crib. The gig is up!

Last night, after putting Cole to bed (and after J reading him 2+ stories), he decided he still wanted to hang-out with mom and dad. So he took a silent journey:

Yes, our little ninja came strolling into the living room after climbing out of bed, over the gate and down the stairs…. With a look on his face that said “hey – no worries ma – just thought I’d come see what you’re doing. Aren't I cute?”

Needless to say, tonight will include a family trip to Becker Furniture to buy a twin bed and maybe some shackles.

Dear Cole

Dear Cole,

Let’s start out with “I love you”. You’re funny and smart and too damn cute. With that said…

PLEASE STOP WAKING UP SO EARLY!

I don’t know if you've realized this or not, but dad and me need our sleep. We’re not very fun when we’re tired. Plus, we want you to grow-up surrounded by cool stuff and going to cool places. We can’t afford that if we get fired for falling asleep on the job.

Maybe you think you've cracked the system – cry for mommy and daddy and end up cuddling in our bed. Well, mom is bruised from getting kicked in the back and dad almost suffocated from you laying on his head.

This has got to stop.

If you love me and your dad, and you want to continue to eat the fancy animal crackers and bagels, please sleep!

If you need a nightlight. Another stuffed animal. A bottle of water. A watch dog that will chase away any nightmare. A vibrating bed that will lull you back to sleep… TELL ME! I’ll get it for you. We've become desperate.

Sincerely and tiredly,
Your Mom and Dad

10 Months Old

I think this is my favorite age yet! Cole has getting more of his own personality every day... and learning so much... it's insane! Here's a quick run down before lots of pictures!

Cole...
Has six teeth - four on top and two on the bottom
Has a underbite - I think its cute
Knows how to wave (this is new as of two days ago)
Is eating more and more foods... we're keeping our fingers crossed that the butt-flu doesn't come back
Is a ham - no clue where he gets that from :)
Has this laugh where he opens his entire mouth as he smiles and goes "haaa, haaa"
Whistles - it's so stinking cute
Does not like being told "no" - damn only children
Is eating three meals, and four bottles a day - I assume we'll drop a bottle soon
Sleeps around 11 hours at night and typically has two 45 minute naps a day (during the week - weekends he usually takes longer naps)
Has a couple of older girlfriends at daycare... but apparently a few of them also have lil' crushes on Jason...
Constantly has bruises on his head/face... he pulls himself up on EVERYTHING and thinks he can walk/ tries on a regular basis
Is wearing 18-24 month clothes and size 4 diapers
Is roughly 32" long and weighs about 25 lbs.
Loves music and dancing and dogs

Now for some pictures:

Party Man

Photobucket

Our little man has decided to take his shirt literally the past few nights... I'm tired.
