Welcome

Though most of this blog contains pictures, it's also a detailed account of my life living with three boys. And yes, they are all boys. Hope you enjoy... they're pretty cute (but often smell).

Week 6

Here we are in week six! To be honest it only seems real at certain times... Like when I can't keep my eyes open past 9:30pm or when it hurts to put a bra on (sorry, TMI)! Getting the weekly updates from The Bump helps a lot because it gives you a great reference to the size of the baby. [To all our friends who read Nicole & Justin's blog, this will redundant]

Sweet Pea: Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Those little hands and feet- still webbed like paddles- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

Telling Mama and Papa Pugh

The stage was set... we invited Kris and Gene over for breakfast on Sunday morning. I made a fruit salad (ok, cut up fruit) and attempted to make a Egg Frittata. Mom helped with Apple Struddle pancakes and the bacon. After everything was ready to go we made our way to the dining room for a nice family breakfast.

I couldn't take it any longer so I quickly threw a wrapped gift-bag at Mom and said "happy early Mother's Day. Don't read the bag" (which said something along of the lines of BABY STORE). She smiled and opened it up (such a good sport) and then saw her tiny little gift:

She promptly handed it to my Dad and then gave me a huge hug. Dad wasn't as quick as Mom. He looked at the gift for what seemed to be 5 minutes when my mom finally grabbed it from him and said "She's pregnant Gene - you are so f*ing dense" - I love my mom!

Then Gene got it!

He jumped up with a big smile and gave Jason a hug and me a never-ending squeeze.

I think the news continued to sink in throughout breakfast and throughout the day. It's still sinking in for me and I had known for a week already!

So now the next step (one of them) is to pick out Grandparent names... I can't see my mom as "grandma" so my pick is GG. For Dad, Papa Pugh works for me but its up to him (he thinks Papa sounds pretentious). Whatever they are called they will be WONDERFUL grandparents.

Note: We're waiting to tell Jason's parents until May 9th - His birthday AND Mother's Day (he was born on Mother's Day so he thinks its a great "full circle" approach). Also, both sets of Jason's grandparents will be in town so Grandpa Schultz will be VERY excited!

Prego!

Two tests later and a crazed Brittney jumping around the house, Jason finally came home. Some people plan cute ways of telling their significant other... not me... "Hey babe, how's it going" My response: PREGNANT!

Needless to say he was a little shocked. I of course starting crying (with a huge smile on my face)!

It's going to take some time to really let it all sink in but I can say this, Pugh and Bones are excited!
