Santa: a little early
Cole getting ready for Santa to come:
"mom, clear a path from the chimney [fireplace] to the tree. Dad, help me get carrots. How many [carrots] you got? 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10. That's too many. But it's probably ok. MOM! Do you have the milk? White or chocolate?! Did you clear a path? Where's the cookies? DID YOU CLEAR A PATH? MOVE THOSE TOYS MOM!"
Hands down one of my favorite experiences of my life.

Cole: 4 Years Old!
You are one of the funniest kids I’ve ever met. Seriously.
You have this amazing comedic timing. You deliver lines perfectly and with the
best mannerisms.
You are WAY too smart. Your vocabulary is better than most
adults. You constantly shock your dad and me as you casually throw out words
beyond your years. And math… You’ve either memorized all the addition questions
on your Wild Kratz Math app or you’re currently doing 1st grade
level math. [your Dad is beyond excited about this BTW]
You’re cute. And you know it! I’m so wrapped around your
finger 95% of the time. You have this “look” locked down. Slight chin deep, big
blue/grey eyes and this adorable little smirk. Gah! I’m gone.
You’re kinda a klutz. You have these long Bambi legs that
often have you falling down at totally random times. One minute your standing,
then next you’re on the ground. I think you’ll grow out of this. I think.
You’re getting too big. At the doctor this week you’re
measuring at 45” tall and 45 lbs. We measure – you’ve grown 3” since your last
birthday! Size 11 shoes. Size XS/S shirts and size 5 pants. Slow it down kiddo!
You are so sweet. You have a kind heart and truly care how
others feel. You cuddle with your mama almost every night. You are quick to
call-out when someone isn’t being nice and even quicker to apologize if you
hurt someone’s feelings. You’re a gentle soul and I love that so much. I hope
you never lose that.
You are SO loved by everyone who knows you, but most of all,
by me and your Dad. You’ll always be my baby no matter how old, tall, cool,
etc. you get. I know you’re going to be a force to be reckon with and I can’t
wait to watch you grow. But try to slow down a little… I’m in no hurry!
Love you lots baby.
Huddy: 8 Months Old
Where did the past 8 months go!? I just don’t understand how
Huddy Bear could be eight months old already… Seriously just feels like I was
on maternity leave.
So here’s an update:
- Wearing size 4 diapers
- (I think) weighs 22 lbs (or more)
- Wearing 18-24 month clothes
- Goes to bed around 7:30 and sleeps until around 6:30am (some days earlier… some later)
- Eating 4 (8 oz) bottles and 4 servings of baby food a day
- Rocking one tooth (bottom middle)
- Army crawling all over the place
- Sitting up on this own
- Instantly pauses when music comes on – totally digs it
- Loves blowing raspberries, clapping, playing patty cake and chewing on his tongue
- So stinking sweet – rarely cries (unless he’s hungry or over-tired)
- Still has this amazingly raspy laugh
- Likes to bounce in his jumper… or where ever he can
- Still thinks Cole is the best thing EVER!
- Loves balloons and the Christmas tree
Is honestly such a great lil’ babe. He loves to laugh and
smile, is still a nuzzler, wakes up cooing and clapping – is just an awesome
kiddo!
I’m so excited to see how he develops. I putting my money on him keeping
his mild attitude – I think he’s going to be my gentle giant that doesn’t get riled
up easily. I do think he’s going to be bigger than Cole… God help me and my
grocery budget!

Coleisms Part 2

"mama. Mama! MAMA! Brittney!!!!"
Cole: Mama. You forgot your phone.
Me: why do I need my phone?
Cole: so you can call and text. (Thank you Sprint ads)
Mama. Let's call daddy "sponge" cause he's silly
"What you said mama?"
Me: you need to go to bed.
Cole: let me think about that.... Nope!
"Daddy, is that puke sponge playing?"
"Mama.... Huddy puked... Again"
"You have to use your eye drops. Otherwise your whole body will be pink" [explaining how pink eye works to Jason]
And my favorite... As cole is laying next to me in bed, and I've been trying to get him to sleep for an hour...
Me: cole, you need to go to sleep!
Cole: but mama, you missed something... [gives me a kiss on the cheek]

It's Papa
Jason thinks Jeff Bridges and my dad are one and the same. Cole informed him: "that's not the real papa. The real papa has whiskers. But I'm sure he's a nice papa to someone else"

Smart kid
Yesterday cole didn't get a smiley on his daily sheet from school (smiley face means he was a good listener all day). If he doesn't get a smiley, then he doesn't get to watch a show or play with the iPad.
So... When we got home, he took matters into his own hands.

Hudson: 6 Months
Quick Huddy Update:
- 30” tall
- 22 lbs.
- Basically way over 100% in all areas
- Wearing size 4 diapers
- Growing out of 18 month clothes (too long)
- Getting really good at sitting up but still pretty tippy due to his large cranium
- Spitting up less as he starts eating more foods
- Still at 5 bottles a day (6 oz for all expect before bedtime, which we do 8 oz)
- Currently eating two babyfood meals a day but thinking about upping it (my Baby Cook will be getting a workout)
- So smiley and such a little love bug – we actually took him into the doctor the other night because he’s been crying a ton before bed… he NEVER cries so we figured there had to be something wrong… there wasn’t… no idea what the deal is… awesome.
- Rolling over back to front and back again… tends to sleep on his side or tummy now
- LOVES his big brother. If Cole is in the room, Hudson’s watching him, laughing at him and all around adoring him. It’s so stinking sweet!
I just can’t believe how fast the time is going with Hudson.
So much quicker it seems than with Cole. Now with the Holidays approaching, it
will be flying bye even more.

Homemade Baby Food
Just call me Mama Stewart because this lady has been making homemade baby food. Ok, it's really not hard at all. If you buy frozen veggies/fruit it's almost stupid-easy. But I'm still proud of myself!
So far I've done all the basic veggies and fruits. Now we've moved onto the combos: sweet potato and pear, pork and peaches with a touch of apple, peas and apples.
Next up: more meat combos and maybe some kale. Let's get crazy!
